Harry one of our T.Y. students has been selected to be a delegate at RTÉ Youth Assembly on Climate at Dáil Éireann on Friday November 15th.
Harry impressed the Assessors and the Final Judging Panel to be selected from almost 1000 applicants.
It’s the first ever Youth Assembly on Climate and will see 157 young people (10 to 17 year olds) from all twenty-six counties come together to discuss and determine their proposals for climate action. It’s a fitting platform for the young who have driven climate to the top of the national and international agenda. The Youth Assembly will be chaired by Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghail.
The 157 delegates will work in groups under five themes to devise a Youth Assembly Proclamation on Climate.
The day has been structured and scheduled to work within the school day so that classes and schools can take part in the day. It will be a proud moment to see one of their own take the seat of a TD at Dáil Éireann.
In order to make it available to ALL young people, the Dáil proceedings will be broadcast LIVE from Leinster House on RTÉ 2 and on News Now on the day.
