St Mary's CBS Enniscorthy V Coláiste Choilm Tullamore
Written by Dennis Óg Lambert & Darragh Harris
We got off to a slow start by conceding a point right after the throw in. Coláiste Choilm then won the resulting puckout and scored another point. Everyone thought that Coláiste Choilm would get on top and dominate until Brian Smith scored an amazing goal.
After Brian scored the goal and settled our nerves, we remained on top for the rest of the first half. By the time the referee blew the halftime whistle, we were 7 points up.
At half time Mr Coleman gave the team a good talk to get us ready for the second half. We noticed that Eoin Fenlon got a 'fair slap’ in the first half, but he played on regardless.
The second half was a little bit scrappy at times with some fouling going on, but we never took our eye off the ball and kept the scoreboard ticking over in our favour.
We were all so happy when we heard the final whistle and celebrated by huddling together and jumping up and down.
Our captain James Murray gave a great speech as we all looked on with big smiles on our faces.
